  1. In English, it's usually

    muːnlaɪt sənɑːtə

  3. -- I can't see any difference between your no 4 and vp's! (perhaps it's a browser question).

-- For nos 4 and 9, respectively, I'd say /ðə 'muːnlaɪt sə'nɑːtə/ and /ðə dɑːns əv ðə ʃʊɡə plʌm feəri/ (each starting with /ðə/)

-- For no 9 I'd say /læ 'fɔːtsæ del de'stiːnɔ/! I don't think I've ever heard the name of that work cited in English (other than as an explanation).

    1. /ʃtraʊs/ or /straʊs/
    2. /'smetʌnə/
    3. /tʃaɪ'kɒvski/
    4. /'beɪthəʊvən/
    5. /'nɪkəlaɪ/
    6. /'veədi/
    7. /rɪmski'kɔːsəkɒf/
    8. /sæ̃'sɑ̃s/ or /sæn'sɑːs/
    9. /tʃaɪ'kɒvski/
    10. /'ʃuːbət/

  4. 8. (my last comment) was intended to be:
    /sæ̃'sɑ̃s/ or /sæn'sɑːns/

    1. I'd agree with Kevin for all of his except for the ʌ in Smetana which wd give it the unlikely vowel sequence in 'blade-runner'
I dont recollect ever hearing tʃaɪˈkɔːfsk, sæ̃nˈsɑ̃ːŋ or ʃuːbɜːt.
As to lɑː fɔːtsə del destiːnəʊ
I understand Kevin's ӕs but he can't have ɔ too allophonic.

    2. You're quite right, Limey: the ʌ in Smetana was "my bad", as they say.

      There's no /ðə/ before /,deθənðə'meɪdən/, though, Kraut!
